ICYMI, people love fireworks.

Station Casinos brings in the heavyweights of fireworks, the Grucci family, to do their 4th of July fireworks show. “If you’re not going to hire the Grucci’s to do your fireworks show you shouldn’t bother”, says the guy who grew up with the Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks show in New York City.

Fireworks will go for 9 minutes at 9pm a both Red Rock Resort and Green Valley Ranch. Caesars Palace has done 4th of July fireworks on the Vegas Strip in the past but hasn’t made an official announcement yet.

Caesars Entertainment is probably too busy cleaning up the poop pipes that broke at The Linq over the weekend. I’ll just tweet that info when it comes out. Enjoy the best of the Red Rock fireworks video I could find on the YouTube.

Update: Stratosphere announced that will have fireworks at 9:15 sharp.

Aria Commercial

Last week Aria posted a new commercial on youtube and facebook.  Unlike the Cosmopolitan commercial, I haven’t seen it on TV yet and don’t expect to.

The commercial fits the same profile as most MGM advertising over the past couple years.  It years to be sexy and multi-cultural while reminding you, briefly, that they have gambling.  While the ad looks good, it doesn’t resonate with me, but I’m pretty sure I’m not the target for the ad.

I have to imagine that their agency has found this type of advertising to work for MGM.  Maybe they should try sexy sales for the Veer Towers who don’t seem to be able to sell or rent their apartments at any price.

I hope to do a little gambling at MGM properties in the near future to see how Mlife actually works.

Louis Theroux “Gambling In Las Vegas”

I was checking the TripAdvisor Atlantic City message board and saw a link to the 2007 documentary by Louis Theroux “Gambling In Las Vegas.”

This is a cool look behind at a weekend of gambling with high rollers at The Hilton.  This shows the fun parts and bad parts of gambling.  You can watch the youtube videos, in 10 minute segments below or you can buy a Louis Theroux box set if you want to own it.
