Extra” exclusively confirms that Britney Spears’s Las Vegas show will in fact be held at one of Caesars Entertainment Group’s properties.
Sources told “Extra” the show would most likely take place at Planet Hollywood, where “Extra’s” Las Vegas bureau is located.
This rumor has heated up in the past few months and it was easy to tell that it would be true this time because it came from a source that wasn’tRobin Leach, who’s about 50/50 with rumors. In typical mainstream marketing this was dragged on to include all of Caesars’ Las Vegas properties to make it seem that she’ll be potentially sharing the stage with Celine and Shania at Caesars Palace. That never made sense, aesthetically, since she does not share an audience with either performer.
Planet Hollywood was always the landing spot for Britney. It makes too much sense for it not to be. There’s a 4,500 seat venue available, the casino markets celebrity culture and when people decide that they don’t care anymore she can segue to Peepshow.
Seriously, I’m stoked for this to finally happen and can’t wait for details.
With unprecedented access behind the scenes at LVH’s “SuperBook” and featuring a cast of legends from the Las Vegas sport-betting world, including long-time Hilton/LVH oddsmaker Jay Kornegay, two-time Supercontest champion Steve Fezzik, hedge-fund manager John Netto, long-time Vegas pro-bettors including Erin Rynning, Teddy Covers, Bryan Leonard, Bruce Marshall, and Alf Musketa, and well-known local sports talk radio hosts Brian Blessing and Ken Thompson, Life on the Line promises to take viewers deep inside the esoteric and usually closed world of that rare breed of gambler who’s able to make a successful living betting sports.
The website doesn’t have prices for download or stream but I think Teddy Covers mentioned it would be only $5, but don’t hold me to that. The trailer looks like this will be an interesting movie if you’re into sports, sports betting and Las Vegas. I like all of those things and I look forward to checking this out.
Claire Sinclair isn’t new to many people that follow Las Vegas. She was introduced to many on an episode of “Holly’s World” by Holly Madison, who was previously the (unofficial) face of Las Vegas. With Holly Madison knocked up and out of commission for a while, Claire Sinclair is stepping into the role as the face of Las Vegas. Claire Sinclair, like Holly Madison, is a former Playboy playmate. Claire Sinclair is actually a super playmate since she was also 2011 Playmate of the Year.
If you follow the Las Vegas media you’ve been seeing her everywhere for the past few months and that will continue. Up next, Claire Sinclair will be headlining a new show, “Pin up”, at the Stratosphere on February 25. Here’s how the Strat describes the show.
PIN UP™ features Claire Sinclair – PLAYBOY’s 2011 Playmate of the Year® and Bettie Page Clothing model – in a high-energy, original show that brings to life the classic pin up calendar girl with a sexy, modern twist.
“This show brings the classic pin up girl calendar to life month by month through incredible live music, dance and variety,” said 21-year old Sinclair. “PIN UP is classy, sexy and most importantly, fun.”
Featuring an impressive cast of dancers, singers and a live six-piece band with a horn section, PIN UP is a fast-paced, swingin’ production that will transport audiences to a modern version of a vintage era, where red lips, corsets and garter stockings grace the most beautiful of women.
You can find more information on the show and buy tickets on the Stratosphere’s website. If you stay at the Stratosphere the tickets are 2 for 1. Follow Claire Sinclair on twitter to see what the new Ms. Las Vegas is up to.
“The Incredible Burt Wonderston” finally has a release date scheduled for this March 15. Along with that release date there is a trailer available to tease you about the magician comedy. Here’s the premise of the movie:
Burt Wonderstone (Carell) and Anton Marvelton (Buscemi) are a successful magic act in Las Vegas. Their partnership comes to an end when Anton is injured by Burt during their hotbox trick, and Anton moves to the Far East. When Burt is overshadowed by popular street magician Steve Gray (Carrey), he must convince Anton to return to the act to regain his standing by all means necessary.
Magic and Las Vegas are a perfect fit. Too bad I don’t like magic shows. After watching the trailer below I think that Anton Marvelton (Steve Buscemi) and Olivia Wilde (just because she’s Olivia Wilde) may be the highlights of “The Incredible Burt Wonderston” for me.
Finishing the production of this movie was quick. You may remember that this movie was filmed all over Las Vegaslast summer. Even though I don’t watch too many movies any movie based in Vegas has my interest and there is a lot of Las Vegas eye candy in this trailer.
I don’t think I’ll head to a movie theater to see “The Incredible Burt Wonderstone” but it doesn’t seem bad. It just doesn’t seem great. The trailer almost seems as if this is a movie destined to be more popular on Netflix or on TBSon a random Sunday afternoon.
It’s a great time in Las Vegas for 80’s heavy metal fans. First Hard Rock Casino brought you Motley Crue. Sure Vince Neil couldn’t sing more then two songs in a row, but it was MOTLEY F’N CRUE! Now they’re bringing a residency featuring Guns N Roses. Sure it’s just Axl Rose singing karaoke with a live band, but still…it’s GUNS N F’N ROSES!
Next March Hard Rock will bring Def Leppard to Vegas for a brief residency.
According to USA Today, Def Leppard will begin performing at Hard Rock’s The Joint on March 22. “We’re very happy to be part of what I call the first wave of rockers to take Vegas back from the lounge singers — Wayne Newton and his type,” singer Elliott told USA Today. Being dubbed Viva Hysteria!, the residency will find Def Leppard performing the album Hysteria in its entirety.
That’s right, DEF F’N LEP is coming to Vegas to perform Hysteria which was by far their best selling album. That’s about as cool as the Crue and GnR and should continue to bring the aging LA rockers in from Los Angeles to the Hard Rock. That’s the Hard Rock’s demo, the shows are selling well and people are having fun. Let it be.
ACDC – Nope. They still tour internationally. Dire Straits – Nope. The masses don’t care. Bon Jovi – Nah. They’d probably do an acoustic/countryish thing for more money even though I’d like a Slippery When Wet show. Van Halen – DING DING DING. We think we have a winner.
It seems as if the talent bookers at Hard Rock are just going down the list of best selling hard rock and heavy metal bands looking for their next resident and I think Van Halen would be perfect.
No matter who’s singing for the band they wreak of what the HRC used to be. They’re also one of the last remaining big selling hard rock bands that may do a residency since they’re based in Los Angeles and still trying to make money as a band (see last year’s release).
Besides, I know I’ve heard people say VAN F’N HALEN before and that’s really all you need to play at the Hard Rock.

I’m not much of a nightclub guy, but I’ve spent a few awesome nights at Rain Nightclub at Palms. It’s lasted a long time, but it closes for major renovations after this weekend. It will re-open as something different in the future, but it won’t be Rain.
The casino and 9Group announced Monday that Rain Nightclub will close early Sunday to make way for a multi-million dollar renovation….Renovations begin next year. The Rain announcement follows the closure in June of the Playboy Club at the Palms — also to allow space for renovations. New tenants haven’t been identified.
Rain opened in 2001, which is shortly before I first started visiting Las Vegas. At that time Rain was the only club to go to. While I’d rather eat, drink and gamble I could always take a short break from the tables to hang out with the good looking and famous people in Vegas.
I’ve written about seeing Britney Spears at Rain before so I won’t go into it again but it’s needless to say I’m listening to Britney while I write this.
There are many places in Las Vegas that are tied to very specific memories that are amazing parts of life. Rain was a part of some of those Vegas memories that I’ll never forget and will always hold a special place in my heart.
Rain will probably reopen as something awesome next year, but it doesn’t matter to me. I still have those awesome memories. I can’t imagine that the new Rain will challenge Marquee and XS for the current title of best clubs in Vegas. We’ll see.
The audio in the video below is not good quality, but that’s about how close I was when Britney first performed at Rain. If you can stomach her audio the fan reaction is awesome.
Reality TV star and Las Vegas darling Holly Madison’s one-time assistant Angel Porrino, who also has graced the pages of Playboy, is about to step into her former boss’s high-heeled shoes as Bo Peep in “Peepshow” at Planet Hollywood. Angel, who starred with Holly in “Holly’s World,” starts Oct. 22 and will perform through Dec. 2.
Rapper and actor Ice-T’s curvy and buxom wife Coco, aka Nicole Austin, takes over as Bo Peep starting Dec. 3 and continues through March, when it’s likely that another guest star will be added.
Angel makes sense in this role as she was an understudy for Holly Madison for a while. She doesn’t have another platform to promote PeepShow besides being in Absinthe for a few minutes so don’t expect this to become a reoccurring role. If you’d like to speculate on Coco’s replacement take into account the following.

Check out 30-something ex-Playboy playmates in another field (Music, Acting, Etc.)
Coco is married to rapper/actor/OG Ice-T and already has a TV show on E!, “Ice Loves Coco“, that will be used to promote inclusion on PEEPSHOW. This is fairly typical of Caesars Entertainment over the couple years to bring in partners to do the heavy lifting on promotion (see countless celebrity chefs & Nobu) rather then to depend on the quality of their brand to sell the product.
“Ice Loves Coco” must have a significant audience because the show is about to begin its 3rd season.
Truthfully, most people don’t really care about talent for PEEPSHOW. This show is just supposed to be a good time and Coco’s addition should do the trick.
While I may sound cynical about Coco’s addition to the cast, I actually think it’s a good move. The TV promotion alone will be worth whatever they’re paying her. Coco and Ice-T have made a few appearances over the summer at the Vegas clubs (see photo above) and pools so there is a lot of cross promotion potential here.
Coco actually brings more to PEEPSHOW then Holly Madison did when she joined the cast if you compare their resume’s.
According to the Las Vegas SunPEEPSHOW is negotiating with both Jenny McCarthy AND Carmen Electra to replace Holly Madison.
Vegas DeLuxe learned last week that New York producers at BASE Entertainment had mulled invitations to Playboy beauty Jenny McCarthy and petite bombshell Carmen Electra — another Playboy nude centerfold cover girl — to possibly take over for 32-year-old Holly.
Now discussions on possible contract terms are moving forward, and there’s even the rumored possibility that Jenny and Carmen would alternate in limited-engagement runs.
It’s no surprise that PEEPSHOW would approach two former Playboy centerfolds after the success Holly Madison brought to the show. It should also not come as a surprise that they would go after two women that are nearing 40 years old. After all, the typical Caesars customer is a skews older then Cosmopolitan. While a younger, more exciting name might have been a better replacement Carmen Electra and Jenny McCarthy are safe bets to hold the fort for a while. In the meantime they can either search for a full time replacement or the show is shuttered for good.
BTW: Trying to find a picture of someone with more than a bikini on after they’ve been naked in a magazine isn’t as easy as you’d think.
If you watch “Las Vegas” as often as I do you may have been startled when the show abruptly stopped airing on TNT midway through the fifth season a couple weeks ago. I need my fix of “Las Vegas” and I know you do to. After a little research i found that “Las Vegas” was not cancelled (again).
“Las Vegas” will return after Labor Day Weekend with only one episode per day instead of two and with a time change to 4am according to my TiVo guide it will start from the very first episode.
While this change probably is the beginning of the end for “Las Vegas” on TNT, the time doesn’t matter since I watch on DVR and I welcome less episodes a week so I can actually keep up with the show instead of deleting half of the episodes so I have room on my TiVo.
At some point I’ll probably end up buying the DVD’s, but as long as “Las Vegas” is on TNT I don’t feel the need. Here are links to buy “Las Vegas” on DVD by season on Amazon so you can prepare for its eventual free TV demise.
