The Rascal Flatts residency at Hard Rock earlier this year as they’re set to return in 2016. If country music is your thing the details and press release are below.
LAS VEGAS (November 16, 2015) – Multi-Platinum selling trio Rascal Flatts will return to The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Las Vegas for a second, nine-show residency, Rascal Flatts Rhythm & Roots, from Wednesday, February 17 to Saturday, March 5. Tickets go on sale Friday, November 20 at 10 a.m.
Rascal Flatts (Gary LeVox, Jay DeMarcus and Joe Don Rooney) wowed fans and critics last February as they performed the first-ever country residency at The Joint. Due to the run’s overwhelming success, the trio will once again make the award-winning venue their home with new shows that will highlight the original Rascal Flatts sound that fans know and love.
“We had such a great time at The Joint earlier this year,” said Joe Don Rooney. “Being the first country act to have a residency there we didn’t really know what to expect. The shows were wild and we knew that if given the chance we would come running back. We are going to mix it up a bit this time and are working through ideas on how to make it a different experience for the fans. It’s Vegas, so you can bet we’re gonna be stepping up our game.”
To date, Rascal Flatts have sold more than 22.8 million albums, more than 29 million digital downloads and more than 9 million concert tickets. They remain the most awarded country music group of the past decade with over 40 trophies from the American Country Awards, Academy of Country Music Awards, American Music Awards, Country Music Association Awards, People’s Choice Awards and more. Their most recent album, REWIND (Big Machine Records), debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Country Albums chart, making Rascal Flatts one of only four acts from the SoundScan era to have eight consecutive studio albums debut in the top spot.
“Rascal Flatts isn’t just one of the best country bands out there – they’re one of the best bands, period. Things really become special when a fan can see them in a venue that’s a fraction of the size of what they normally perform in,” said Bobby Reynolds, vice president of booking at AEG Live Las Vegas. “Gary, Jay and Joe Don loved the intimacy of The Joint and the connection they had with their fans – literally reaching out and touching them. They realized how much fun they had during their last residency, and we all couldn’t wait to do it again.”
“We took a huge leap of faith by switching up our signature rock ‘n’ roll residencies and bringing in a country music group,” said Chas Smith, vice president of entertainment at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. “Rascal Flatts really knocked it out of the park and helped influence a lot of other country music programming on property. We are extremely excited to have these guys back at The Joint for what is sure to be another successful residency.”

Another sports betting movie. That’s always an interesting subject, let’s check it out. The Best Of It is a documentary as opposed to a feature film like Mississippi Grind. Here’s The Best Of It overview from their YouTube page.
THE BEST OF IT is a character driven feature length film that follows the arduous life of a professional gambler. The documentary focuses on Boston, Shrink, Dink, and Banker who all have strived to make a living in the dog eat dog world of a pro bettor. The lifestyle of a gambler is unforgiving and tends to chew up and spit out even the most seasoned gambler, a common story in Las Vegas. The film’s director/producer Scott Pearson Eberly filmed over 1,200 hours in the gambling trenches spanning four years.
The BEST OF IT focuses on a feud that develops between Boston and Shrink following a radio show when The Shrink accused Boston of gambling debts and failing to pay those debts. The animosity between the two was well known in the betting community, but sometimes behind the rumors and half-truths is the unexpected that eventually bubbles to the surface. The problem with the unknown is by the time it’s exposed it is often too late and the only outcome is a tragic endgame.
Here’s the official trailer.
I’m always interested in tales from sports bettors so I’ll probably watch this when it’s available.
There’s no specific release information for the movie but their website bestofitmovie.com has a lot more information than the trailer offers. You can also follow @BOI_Movie on twitter for updates.
A TV show based in Vegas casinos with Wesley Snipes as the “pit boss” and lots of Vegas eye candy. How bad could it be?
Here’s what the NBC website says about “The Player“.
From the executive producers of “The Blacklist” comes the action-packed Las Vegas-set thriller “The Player.” The series co-stars Wesley Snipes as a pit boss and Charity Wakefield as the dealer for a high-stakes game where an organization of wealthy individuals gamble on the ability of former military operative turned security expert Philip Winchester (“Strike Back,” “Fringe”) to stop some of the biggest crimes imaginable from playing out. Can he take them down from the inside and get revenge for the death of his wife, or is it true what they say: The house always wins.
Here’s the trailer for the show so you can maybe make sense of what the description means. Listen carefully for Wesley Snipes’ accent.
What kind of accent does Wes have? I’m not sure I completely understand the premise for “The Player” just yet but that’s okay. It’s a show based in Las Vegas and that’s always a good thing for at least 10 minutes. The DVR will be set tonight.
“The Player” hits TV late September. You can find more information on NBC.com. I’ll anxiously be waiting for Wes to drop a reference to “Always Bet On Black.“
A WSOP movie trailer was just released. The official trailer for “10 for 10: The Main Event – Martin Jacobson WSOP 2014″ just hit the internets and it doesn’t look too shabby. Check it out below.
Regardless if you’re interested in watching a movie about poker you should at least appreciate that the trailer was beautifully shot. The movie is an insider’s look at Martin Jacobson’s quest for the 2014 WSOP championship and its $10,000,000 prize.
The long rumored Journey Hard Rockresidency was confirmed today. Color me uninspired this announcement. Initial rumors were that this Journey residency was to include the original lineup featuring lead singer Steve Perry. That doesn’t seem to be the case.
Shows at The Joint will be on The Joint on April 29 and then May 1, 2, 6, 8, 9, 13, 15 and 16.
Even though current singer, Arnel Pineda, is fun to watch as the singer this is nothing more than a Journey cover band in my eyes. They could be playing at the Fremont Street Experienceon a random Tuesday night. Maybe Steve Perry is happy singing along with the 7th inning stretch song a San Francisco Giants games.
Tickets for Journey at the Hard Rock at over $60 after fees and taxes and go on sale January 16th. If you’d rather save the money you can see an hour of Journey’s concert in Manilla below (or buy DVD on Amazon for less than $30). It’s pretty awesome if you like Journey.
I’m not big on action movies but I’ve seen just about every movie Jason Statham has been in. Even though the stories are similar it’s fun to watch him demolish multiple rooms of people over 90 minutes. The simplicity of his movies are great for a lazy Sunday afternoon.
His next blockbuster, Wild Card, will be in movie theaters early next year and Netflix shortly thereafter. The movie features your typical Jason Statham ass kicking with Sofia Vergara as the hottie and casinos in Vegas as the scenery. How could this not be awesome?!
A few weeks ago, on the BS Report, Mark Wahlberg let it be known that “The Gambler” remake wasn’t actually a remake. It was a new movie inspired by the great gambling movie featuring James Caan in the 1970’s.
With that in mind the trailer for the 2014 version of “The Gambler” looks like it will be fun to watch for anyone into gambling. It may be a movie that’s Sunday afternoon Netflix watch rather than a movie that you rush to the theater to see but it looks okay.
I’m not a Tiesto fan nor do I dislike him. He’s one of the most famous DJ’s in the world and whatever. I just prefer a different kind of house music.
Regardless of how I feel about the music the team that puts together the shows for the Fountain at Bellagio did a really good job choreographing the water to the music.
The Tiesto Fountain Show At Bellagio looks good and doesn’t seem out-of-place visually. Sonically is another story. Check it out. The second song starts around 1:50 and that’s really where the cool is.
