I first heard of Gamblit Gaming over the summer when they received approval to incorporate video games with casino games (see story on Vegas Chatter). They were fairly quiet over the few months following approval. Their plan was always to use G2E as a springboard and launch games publicly next year.

While the big named themed slot machines were the first talking point for the mainstream media covering G2E, Gamblit Gaming really took over as G2E came to a close. If you’ve seen any news articles since G2E you’ll probably notice the injection of millennial’s into the discussion. That’s where Gamblit steps into the discussion.

Why I Deleted MyVegas Blackjack

I play blackjack every now and again in the casino but unlike some of my friends I enjoy other games like 3 Card Poker or Mississippi Stud. When I do play blackjack in a casino I always want to play using correct basic strategy. Over time wins and losses will even out so I don’t really worry about other players. I just want to make sure I make the right moves – for me and for the table.

MyVegas Blackjack was introduced in the beginning of October (see details on Vegas Chatter). I downloaded the MyVegas Blackjack game to see what it was like. While MyVegas Blackjack is a game for fun it wasn’t as simple as a traditional blackjack game.

There’s a “Bold Play Meter” (aka “Wrong Play Meter”) which makes the game fun but rewards the player for making the wrong plays. This feature made me pause. I enjoyed playing MyVegas Blackjack more than I expected. However,

I had to delete MyVegas Blackjack from all of my devices.

MyVegas Blackjack was creating some bad habits in my blackjack game because of the ability to earn more points for bad moves. I enjoyed this feature a bit too much and had to stop. I have some friends coming to town that will play blackjack, almost exclusively, for a 4 straight days. I need my blackjack skills sharp for when we play.

The Linq Hotel Is Open

The Linq Hotel officially opens today even though it’s never been closed. You may remember it as The Quad which it’s been for the past 2 years. Before that you may remember it as Imperial Palace. This name change should stick for a while until Caesars sells naming rights to The Linq mall and ferris wheel some day.

I dig the casino at The Linq Hotel if only for Tag Bar (see thoughts on Vegas Chatter). It’s a fairly middle of the road casino but I always have fun there. That doesn’t offer anything special besides the fun you bring.

Vegas Chatter has pictures of the renovated rooms, which look nice for a mid-level hotel. Here’s the press release for more information.
