LAS VEGAS – On Halloween, 30 Vegas Vickie™ lookalikes swarmed Circa Resort & Casino in downtown Las Vegas for its first-ever “Neon Idol” costume contest. A panel of judges determined that contestant #103, Mistianna Lund, created the best interpretation of the iconic kicking cowgirl neon sign, taking home a coveted $10,000 prize.

A local Las Vegan, Lund’s winning costume featured more than 3,000 jewels and took 115 hours to make. She also shared that she will be donating her winnings to her new non-profit, Answers4Cancer, where she serves as president. The organization provides individuals battling cancer funds for holistic services, such as chiropractic, massage, acupuncture services and more, at zero cost to the patient.

“This contest was a surreal experience that I’ll never forget,” said Lund. “It’s an honor and I’m so blessed and grateful. This was a creative and fun way to raise money for Answers4Cancer, and this check from Circa will help us in our mission to help as many cancer patients in Clark County as we can. It’s an honor to be named your 2021 Vegas Vickie!”

The judging panel consisted of an array of beloved local personalities, including:

• “Horny” Mike Henry of “Counting Cars” on The History Channel
• Entertainment columnist John “Kats” Katsilometes of Las Vegas Review-Journal
• Hosts of the Vegas Revealed podcast, Dayna Roselli and Sean McCallister
• Vital Vegas founder Scott Roeben
• Wes VanDyke of YESCO, the company that oversaw Vegas Vickie’s recent refurbishment

Vegas Vickie has been a staple in the downtown Las Vegas scene since she made her first appearance on the Fremont Street Experience in 1980. Circa’s owners, Derek and Greg Stevens, acquired the sign in 2016, later restoring her and placing her as a centerpiece to Circa’s lobby. She can now be seen kicking her mechanical boot to welcome visitors to her namesake cocktail lounge, Vegas Vickie’s.
